Pens & Pencil Sets

I'm starting this phase of woodworking mainly for the fact that they do make good gifts for holidays or birthdays and such.  These are slim line 7mm set (Lead pen on top and an ink pen on the bottom) turned from Olive Wood I got from Bethlehem.  When they prune the olive trees, the branches are used for carvings and also turned into blanks for pen turning.  It is absolutely beautiful wood and is fun to work with.  The finish is simple: A little wet sanding on the lathe (set at 500rpm) with 600 grit paper and Mineral Spirits, then the lathe is set up to 2650rpm and Hut Wax is applied while spinning on the lathe.
